A Week of iPhone Vlogs
It was kind of accidental, but after having so much fun making a whole bunch of iPhone vlogs last week I just carried on during the first week back at work, and made one every day. Each one comes with a brand new soundtrack sketch too.

Vlogmas 2017 (Week One): A Christmas Wedding, Birthday and More

Weekly Vlog: First Week in a New Job
I started my new job this week, as an associate lecturer in Popular Music Production at Solent University. Back at my other job, it was a busy week of teaching, and getting the business plan finished and sent off. Somewhere in between all that, there was time to make music, preview the new Nuffield Southampton Theatre City venue, and start making my annual Christmas cake.
Knowing it would be a busy week, I decided to film a little bit of each day, and then sit down at the weekend to see what that footage would become. Together with some audio experiments and soundtrack clips from other projects, it turns out I had a weekly vlog to upload.
M-Tech: Heart for the Arts Award
The M-Tech project has been nominated for a "Heart for the Arts" award from the National Campaign for the Arts.
It was with huge delight — and an equal amount of surprise — that Southampton Music Hub got the news today that the M-Tech project — the project I currently manage and deliver across Southampton and the Isle of Wight — has been nominated for a Heart for the Arts award as one the best Local Authority Arts Initiatives this year.
Daily Echo: You Know That Face
The Daily Echo very kindly offered to feature a short write up about my work with Southampton Music Hub as part of their "You Know That Face" series.
A little quote from myself in that feature:
"The thing I enjoy most is seeing the difference music makes with young people and seeing kids that might struggle to achieve in other areas of their life make a success of music, it is amazing."
That's why we do it!
Music Fayre 2017
Last weekend, Southampton Music Hub hosted a Music Fayre at Central Hall to celebrate and highlight the wide-range of musical opportunities in Southampton. I made a short video about the day.
